Samsung refreshes its entry level smart phone line up

After releasing its high-end product line up, Samsung now has refreshed its entry level models with the Galaxy Core II, Galaxy Ace 4, Galaxy Young 2 and Galaxy Star 2. All 3 models except for Ace 4 have dual-SIM variants while its Ace 4 is the only device that comes with a 4G LTE option. As these smart phones are targeting the affordable segment, the on-board display ranges between 3.5″ to 4.5″ and on-board they are all running on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat with Samsung’s signature TouchWiz UI.

The Core II has the best spec in the list with a Quad-Core 1.2GHz processor while the screen is a 4.5-incher that pushes WVGA solution (800×480). A notch down is the Galaxy Ace 4 with a smaller 4″ WVGA display with a dual-core 1.2GHz + 1GB RAM for the 4G LTE version, while the 3G HSPA+ variant gets a dual-core 1.0GHz processor with just 512MB RAM. The most affordable offering is the Galaxy Young 2 and Galaxy Star 2 with a modest 3.5″ HVGA (480×320) display and it is powered by a 1.0GHz Single core processor with 512MB RAM.

There’s no word on its pricing at the moment but with plenty of cheap and cheerful smart phones in the market, these new Samsung models would be a tough one to recommend against better spec alternatives.

You can check out the specs for all four Galaxy models after the break.
