Cheap and cheerful devices are abundant in our local mobile scene and if you’re looking for an affordable Android smart phone with 4G LTE, you can expect Motorola to release its Moto G with 4G LTE in Malaysia very soon. The Moto G 4G LTE edition which carries the model XT1039 has been spotted in SIRIM database which indicates its imminent launch locally.
Like the current Moto G, it carries the same impressive 4.5″ IPS HD 720p display with 1.2GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 400 processor that’s mated to 1GB RAM. It isn’t clear what storage options will be available but both 8GB and 16GB models are now expandable with a microSD slot. For imaging, it gets an average 5MP main camera and a front facing 1.3MP camera. Like the current crop of Moto models, you can be sure that this will be rocking the latest Android 4.4.3 KitKat.
Another key difference with its previous Moto G is that the new 4G LTE model that’s being certified only comes with a single SIM slot. Pricing is still unknown at this point and if Motorola aims to stay ahead of the cheap and cheerful game, it shouldn’t be priced far off from its current RM600-800 price range. The current Dual-SIM Moto G is seeing some price reduction with some online retailer offering the 16GB unit at RM659.
Special thanks to NightFelix for keeping an eye out on this.
