Quad HD displays are becoming the standard for flagship smart phones launched in the second half of 2014. We’ve seen Oppo, LG and even Lenovo having a smart phone with Quad-HD display. Now Alcatel appears to be the next player as its upcoming One Touch D820 was spotted in GFXBench with a Quad HD display.
The purported benchmark reveals a 4.6″ screen that does a whooping 2560×1440 resolution. If this is real, this would be the highest pixel density display for a smart phone at 638 ppi (pixels per inch)! As comparison, the Find 7 and LG G3’s 5.5″ display does 538 ppi. Somehow we feel that 4.6″ is too small considering its current Octa-Core flagship, the One Touch Idol X+ is having a 5″ Full HD display.
The new device runs on MediaTek’s latest Octa-Core MT6595 processor with 4G LTE support and mated to 3GB of RAM. On-board storage is believed to be 16GB while the main camera is capable of shooting 4K resolution videos. Out of the box, it is listed to run with the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat. With a Quad HD display, an Octa-Core processor and 4G LTE connectivity, this device will definitely get some attention in the coming months.
