VIDEO: Evolution of iOS from iPhone OS 1.0 to iOS 8

The iPhone was introduced about 7 years ago by Steve Jobs which defined a new course for smart phones that we know today. Apple will be releasing a new iPhone model at the end of this year and they had just announced its latest iOS 8.

To showcase how iOS has progressed over the years, the Verge had compiled a highlight video from the very beginning when it was known as iPhone OS until the current iOS 8. Initially the iPhone OS was a very closed system and AppStore was only introduced in iPhone OS 2.0 where they finally open up to 3rd party app developers.

Copy and Paste function was lacking on the iPhone until it was finally introduced on iPhone OS 3.0. The mobile operating system then was renamed to iOS in 2010 when the iPad was first introduced.

We are not going to spoil the rest of the history lesson, so head after the break to watch the video.
