Along with its Liquid Leap wearable, Acer has announced its Liquid Jade smart phone which supports dual-SIM. At the front, the Liquid Jade sports a 5″ IPS display that does 1280×720 pixels resolution and is toughen with Gorilla Glass 3. Design wise, it is pretty curved all over which Acer claims to be both ergonomic and elegant to hold
Underneath it runs on a 1.3GHz Quad-Core MediaTek MT6582 processor with 1GB of RAM. There’s 8GB of on-board storage which can be expanded with microSD card up to 32GB. At the back, there’s a 13MP camera that boasts f/1.8 aperture and a fast 0.3 seconds autofocus. For selfie, it is handled by a 2MP shooter at the front. It is juiced up with a 2,100mAh battery and has a respectable thickness of just 7.5mm. Out of the box, it runs on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat which is quite surprising for a MediaTek based smart phone.
Overall, the specs are quite close with the Huawei Honor 3C except for its camera and RAM. Availability wise it is targeted for Q3 this year and Acer is bundling its Liquid Leap wearable smart band in selected countries.
