If you need a dual-sim device with a bigger screen, the ASUS FonePad 7 is now available in Malaysia from RM499. This is the refreshed model of its original FonePad 7 that was released last year. It comes with a 7″ display that does 1024×600 resolution and runs on a dual-core 1.2GHz Intel Atom Z2520 processor. This is the same processor that is powering the affordable ZenFone 4. It also gets 1GB of RAM, dual-sim slots, 2MP + 0.3MP cameras and supports faster 3G HSPA+ with speeds up to 42Mbps.
Storage wise, the 4GB version is priced at RM499 while its bigger 8GB model is slightly more at RM599. If you need more, you can easily pop a microSD card up to 64GB capacity. Juicing up the FonePad 7 is a 3,950mAh capacity battery which is rated for 10 hours of use. Overall the FonePad 7 is 10.7mm thick and weighs 290 grams. In terms of colours, the 4GB version is only available in Black while the 8GB unit has more choices with Black, White, Red & Blue.
On-board it features the same ZenUI that’s found on the current ASUS ZenFone series and it is currently running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The FonePad 7 is upgradable to the latest Android 4.4 Kitkat via software update. You can view more official pics of the FonePad 7 after the break.
