VIDEO: Nokia brings snow sledding to South Africa. Promises smoother Android experience with Nokia X

Nokia would like to believe that its Nokia X is the smoothest Android experience available in their latest video. The commercial shows a bunch of guys snow sledding smoothly in a man-made snow course in the middle of South Africa. On the contrary, we find the Nokia X series to be a mishmash of Lumia UI with Android platform and it actually felt laggy to use.

That’s partly due to its low spec internals of having a dual-core 1GHz processor that’s mated with just 512MB RAM for the base Nokia X model. Even its higher-end Nokia XL is looking out of place among the competition with just 768MB of RAM and a having low 5″ 800×480 resolution display.

With the newly announced Moto E with its Dual-Core 1.2GHz Processor, 1GB of RAM and a 4.3″ qHD display, it is getting harder to recommend the Nokia X to those who are on a tight budget. If you are looking for something different, we would recommend the entry level Lumia 525 or the upcoming Lumia 630 over this.

Watch the Nokia X commercial after the break.
