Nokia/Microsoft will be launching its new Nokia Lumia 630 in Malaysia next week. Announced during last month’s Microsoft Build, the Lumia 630 is Microsoft’s most affordable new device that’s running on the latest Windows Phone 8.1.
Spec wise, it gets a 4.5″ IPS display that does 854×480 pixels resolution and runs on a modest 1.2GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 400 processor with 512MB of RAM. On-board it gets 8GB of storage with a microSD expansion slot supporting up to 128GB cards. It also gets a 5MP back camera without flash and a decent 1,830mAh capacity battery.
Design wise, it looks like a Nokia X that’s running on a Windows Phone platform instead of Android. Listed at US$159, the Lumia 630 is expected to be priced below RM600 in Malaysia. The event is happening on the 20th May and we’ll find out more details on its pricing and availability of its Dual-SIM variant during the event. There’s also the Lumia 635 which is basically the same device but it supports 4G LTE. That device would be announced much later sometime in July.
