HTC One M8 now official in Malaysia

The aluminium clad HTC One M8 is officially launched in Malaysia with the retail price of RM2,399. For now we are getting the 16GB version and it is available with a choice of Gunmetal Grey and Glacial Silver colours. The HTC One M8 is available through its authorised dealers nationwide and with Maxis as their exclusive telco partner. Despite being exclusive, U Mobile too is offering it on contract while DiGi has teased that it’s coming soon on their network.

To recap on the specs, the new HTC One M8 comes with a 5″ Full HD display which is slightly bigger than last year’s 4.7″ HTC One. In terms of pixel density, it still pushes a decent 440 ppi (pixels per inch). For Malaysia, the HTC One M8 runs on the latest Quad-Core 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB of RAM. If the 16GB on-board storage isn’t enough, HTC has finally included a microSD slot which supports up to 128GB.

In terms of camera, the same 4MP Ultrapixel camera has been retained but they it is accompanied by a secondary camera for its extra UFocus depth-of-field feature. Powering the device is a slightly larger 2,600mAh battery and overall it weighs 160grams with a thickness of 9.35mm. If you’re planning to switch to the new One, do take note that it uses Nano-SIM which is the same SIM size used on the iPhone 5/5S and Nokia Lumia 1520. You can compare the HTC One specs versus other flagship smart phones here.
