Oppo Find 7 officially launched in Malaysia. Going on sale by end June

Oppo has just launched its latest Find 7 flagship smart phone in Malaysia just under 2 months from its initial launch in China. The Find 7 comes in 2 variants – High-spec Find 7 with a Quad-HD display and high-spec innards and a lower-spec Find 7a with a Full HD variant that still packs decent specs.

The first model which will be available tomorrow on the 15th May is the Find 7a which retails at RM1,598. Pre-orders for the Find 7a had started for a couple of weeks now and Oppo is giving additional goodies such as a Bluetooth Speaker, Screen Protector and a special cover. In terms of specs, the Find 7a comes with a 5.5″ Full HD display that does a decent pixel density of 400ppi and powering the device is a powerful 2.3GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB of RAM. It gets 16GB storage on-board with microSD slot and it is juiced up with a 2,800mAh battery.

For photography, it uses Sony’s 13MP BSI Sensor with 6 element lens and Oppo has a special feature to produce 50MP photos through software resampling. For Selfie, the front gets a 5MP camera which is enhanced with a couple of software based photo retouch features. Another interesting feature is its VOOC Rapid Charge that is capable of charging the device from 0 to 75% in just 30 minutes. The back cover is removable and it is opened with a rather discreet push button mechanism which is explained in our earlier preview.

Of course, the highlight is the Oppo Find 7 high-spec model which boasts a 5.5″ Quad HD display. It does 2560×1440 pixels resolution that results a ultra dense 538ppi. Design wise, the high-spec Find 7 and Find 7a are identical with the option of textured white and a carbon-fibre looking black colour option. The processor and RAM in the high-spec Find 7 is a notch higher with a faster 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 with 3GB of RAM. The on-board storage is bigger as well at 32GB and so is the battery at 3,000mAh. The 13MP camera, 5MP front shooter and VOOC charging also comes as standard on the high-spec model. In terms of pricing, the high-spec model is going for RM1,998 and it will be available by end June. Both devices are running on ColorOS 1.2 that’s based on top of Android 4.3.
