Purported Xiaomi Mi3S spotted with 2.5GHz processor and 3GB RAM

Xiaomi’s current top-of-the-line Mi3 is looking dated in terms of specs when compared with the current high-end smart phones. To keep up with the rest, Xiaomi is said to be working on a refreshed model that will be called as the Mi3S.

Now the purported Mi3S has been spotted and it was caught running on a faster 2.5GHz Quad-Core processor with 3GB of RAM. The processor is likely to be the latest Quad-Core Snapdragon 801 processor that’s also found on the Galaxy S5, HTC One M8, Find 7 and OnePlus One. Despite being called a Mi3S, the new model appears to be more than just a facelift as the design looks different with a metallic frame and rounded corners.

The purported device also reveals a newer Android 4.4.2 KitKat with its own MIUI skin. On-board it is shown to have 16GB of storage, of which 12.3GB is available to use. So far there’s no word on its availability but we expect this to be announced soon considering Xiaomi Singapore had dropped its Mi3 pricing from S$419 (about RM1,080) to $339 (about RM882).

Xiaomi has been hinting for several days that they are finally in Malaysia. However they have yet to share the smart phone models that they will be offering on sale in Malaysia. Word has it that they will be introducing their current Mi3 first which is likely to be priced below RM1,000 when it gets here. If they do, you better be quick as limited units are expected to be sold out within minutes.
