Samsung had created a social milestone with Ellen DeGeneres’s selfie shot that was retweeted over 3 million times. Now Samsung is enjoying another Selfie viral featuring US President Barrack Obama. Professional baseball player David Ortiz had taken the shot with his Galaxy Note 3 and his tweet had garnered more than 40,000 retweets so far.
The officials at the White House aren’t too happy about this as they have objected using the President for commercial purposes. Nobody knows what is going on behind closed doors but the tweet with selfie shot hasn’t been pulled down.
While Ortiz is endorsing Samsung mobile products, he has denied being paid for the viral image. He added that it was done on his personal capacity and he did asked the President before taking the shot. Are people just being prejudiced against Samsung? Would it be any different if he was using an iPhone?
This isn’t the first time Obama has taken a selfie shot. Earlier on, he joined British Prime Minister David Cameron and Denmark Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt in a selfie shot during Nelson Mandela’s memorial service. That shot was taken with a BlackBerry Z10.
You can check out the video of the selfie moment after the break.
