Hands-on: Oppo Find 7a – Lower spec unit with 5.5″ Full HD and 2.3GHz Quad-Core processor

The Oppo Find 7 has just been announced with 2 versions available. The lower spec model which is named Find 7a will go on sale tomorrow in China for 2,998 Yuan (about RM1,585) and it is likely to reach Malaysia by end April. In terms of size, it is similar to the high-spec Find 7 but comes with a matte plastic backing which is quite pleasant to touch.

In terms of specs, the front features a 5.5″ IPS display that does Full HD resolution of 1920×1080. This gives a rather respective pixel density of 403ppi, which is still rather dense. Despite its “low-spec” label, the Find 7a is run a high-end 2.3GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB of RAM. On-board the storage is half of what the high-end unit is offering with just 16GB of storage but you can expand it using microSD. The rear camera is a 13MP camera while selfie shots are handled by a 5MP front facing camera. Juicing up the Find 7a is a 2,800mAh capacity battery which is 200mAh less than its high-end model.

In the hands, it feels really slick and the interface is rather similar with the Oppo N1 with its ColorOS, that’s skinned over Android 4.3 Jelly bean. Overall it is 9.2mm thick and weighs 170 grams.

Check out our hands-on of the Oppo Find 7a after the break.
