Lenovo Vibe Z Arrives in Malaysia

UPDATE: Read our First Impressions of the Vibe Z here.

Lenovo officially launched its first ever 4G LTE smartphone, the Vibe Z, in Malaysia today. Retailing for RM1,799, the Vibe Z features a 5.5-inch full HD display, a high-spec 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of on board storage however the devcie lacks microSD expansion. At the rear is a 13MP camera and a the front you get a 5MP unit. On-board there’s a generous 3,000mAh capacity battery that should give you close to two days of use.

In the hands, the Vibe Z feels premium. With the thickness 7.9mm, the device looks and feels svelte. The back cover is made out plastic but it has been laser etched to cover up the fact the it’s plastic and Lenovo did a good job with it as the Vibe Z feels like fabric with a nice texture to the touch.

At launch the Vibe Z is exclusively available from Celcom. First 30 customers who sign up with the Celcom First Plan with mPro or mPro Plus data plan for 24 months will be eligible to get device at the special RM688 price with additional RM50 shopping voucher. If you are not one of the first 30, Celcom offers the Vibe Z from RM988 on the same plan. Celcom will be having a special launch event starting from today at their Blue Cube @ Sunway Oasis Boulevard Outlet at Sunway Pyramid. If you prefer to get it outright without contract, the Vibe Z will be available across its dealers nationwide from 15th April.
