DiGi starts pre-registration for Samsung Galaxy S5

The latest Samsung Galaxy S5 is expected to come to Malaysia on 11th April and DiGi has wasted no time by kicking off its registration of interest. The registration page reveals 3 colours available – Charcoal Black, Shimmery White and Electric Blue, leaving out the “band-aid” looking Cooper Gold colour option. So far no word on the Galaxy S5 model that’s coming and we are hoping that Samsung Malaysia is bringing in the larger 32GB version.

To recap on the specs, the Galaxy S5 comes with a faster 2.5GHz Quad-Core processor with 2GB of RAM while the screen is slightly bigger than before at 5.1″ with Full HD resolution. In terms of storage, it comes with a choice of either 16GB or 32GB storage along with a larger 2,800mAh capcity battery. The 2 new notable hardware features include a finger print scanner on the home button and a rear mounted heart rate sensor.

The main camera now has been upgraded to 16MP which claims to offer the fastest focus speed on a smart phone at 0.3 seconds. 4G LTE support comes as standard along with the usual NFC, WiFi 802.11ac, Infared port and Bluetooth 4.0. To make it more life-proof, the Galaxy S5 now comes with water and dust resistance rated at IP67.
