That Escalated Quickly: Galaxy S5 Gets Ripped Off in Record Time

In less than 24 hours since its announcement, the Samsung Galaxy S5 gets ripped off in record time. China smart phone maker Goophone has listed a new Goophone S5 smart phone which looks rather identical with the latest flagship device from Samsung.

Before you start laughing, the imitation product does seem to pack a punch. It comes with a 5″ Full HD display and runs on MediaTek’s MTK6592 processor with True Octa-Core processor clocked at 2GHz. To match the real thing, it also comes with 2GB of RAM, and a 2,800mAh capacity battery. It comes with a 13MP camera at the back and a 5MP camera t the front. The software version is listed to be running with Android 4.2 and is likely to come with a TouchWiz lookalike UI. We doubt that it will come with a heart rate sensor but who knows what else they are capable of making.

This isn’t the first time Goophone has been ripping off smart phones from popular brands. Its product portfolio includes the Galaxy Note 3 and even Apple’s iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. On Goophone’s official website, they proudly mention that “Goophone is a global smartphone brand, manufacture the most stylish phones and provide cheaper option for world’s users”.

You can check out the Goophone S5 here.

Even the product picture looks like an exact copy from the official press images.
