Nokia X coming to Malaysia next week

The Nokia X will be coming to Malaysia with a launch event happening next week on the 5th of March. The Android based Smart Phone from Nokia was officially announced yesterday at Barcelona and aims to fill the gap between their Asha and Lumia smart phones. Pricing wise, the Nokia X is listed at 89 Euros which is approximately RM400 when converted directly.

There are a total of 3 models announced – Nokia X, Nokia X+ and Nokia XL. The Nokia X is the base model which comes with a 4″ WVGA display, dual-core 1GHz Qualcomm Processor and 512MB of RAM. On-board there’s 4GB of storage which you can expand using microSD. Photos and videos are handled by a modest 3MP camera. It will be available in 6 colours – Bright Orange, Yellow, White, Green, Blue and Black.

In our hands-on with its larger Nokia XL model, the UI on the Nokia X range gives a hybrid experience of both Windows Phone and Android. If priced at RM400 locally, the Nokia X will face an uphill battle with entry level Androids, particularly the Chinese brands like Redmi that have upped their game.
