Nokia today announced that their budget large-format smartphone, the Lumia 1320, will go on sale here in Malaysia on Friday, January 17. The device will retail for RM1,199.
The 1320 is Nokia’s vision of large format for the masses with a spec sheet that’s been cut down to meet a budget. The Lumia 1320 features a 6-inch 720p ClearBlack display(245ppi) with Gorilla Glass 3 and Qualcomm’s entry level Snapdragon 400 dual-core processor running at 1.7GHz with 1GB of RAM. There’s 8GB of on board storage, 7GB free SkyDrive storage and microSD card support up to 64GB in capacity.
In the camera department, the 1320 gets only 5MP main unit with 1080p video capabilities. At the front you get a VGA (0.3 megapixel) shooter and not much else. You will also be missing the four-mic array that is build into the the 1320’s more expensive stablemate, the Lumia 1520. Instead, the 1320 gets just one mic. Also missing is the built-in wireless charging and NFC but it’s a good thing that the Lumia 1320 gets the same 3,400 mAh battery as the more expensive 1520, and there’s LTE support.
The Nokia Lumia 1320 will be available in a choice of yellow, black, or white. Sorry orange fans, the orange version will not be available at launch. And we can’t help thinking that there could be a number of Android options that offer more for the same amount of money.
