Sony updates Xperia Z1 & Xperia Z Ultra to Android 4.3

As promised by Sony earlier, the Sony Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra is finally getting its Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update. This is followed by its rival manufacturers releasing their Android 4.3 updates for their respective HTC One and Galaxy S4 devices not too long ago. The new update for the Xperia Z1 & Z Ultra is said to deliver a smoother UI experience thanks to Jelly Bean’s Project Butter performance.

Apart from that, Sony has enhanced its built-in apps such as WALKMAN, Album, Movies and now comes with more interface customisation with downloadable Xperia UI Theme packs. For the 6.44″ Xperia Z Ultra, it finally gets the Sony Smart Social Camera which was first featured on the Xperia Z1.

At time of writing, the update is not available Over The Air (OTA) for Malaysian users. However you still can update your device manually through Sony PC Companion software that can be downloaded here. The new update on the Xperia Z1 carries the version number 14.2.A.0.290.

For those with the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia Tablet Z and Xperia SP, Sony says that the update will be rolled out shortly.
