LG is finally making its curved G Flex smart phone available outside South Korea. As part of its global roll out, Singapore & Hong Kong will be among the first to receive it this month. So far no word on Malaysia but LG says that availability for other key Asian markets will be announced by end of this month. Hopefully we could be getting it in the next month or so.
In Singapore, the LG G Flex will be available on their 3 telcos with pre-orders starting this Sunday on 8th December. It will officially go on sale on 21st December at S$1,088 which is RM2,797 with current exchange rates. For those that pre-ordered, LG is also giving out LG Vest Cover & Bluetooth headset worth S$226 combined. Although the RM2,797 price tag is expensive, it is still much cheaper than the RM3,599 asking price of our local grey import retailers.
To recap, the G Flex is LG’s answer to the Samsung Galaxy Round in an attempt to showcase their curved smart phone capabilities. At the front, it features a flexible 6″ P-OLED display which pushes a moderate HD 720p while at the back, it comes with a flexible high capacity 3,500mAh battery. Powering the device is a top notch 2.26GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, mated with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of on-board storage. There’s a 13MP main camera and over at the back, it features the same rocker buttons that’s also found on its LG G2 flagship.
In addition, the LG G Flex also offers a one of a kind “Self-Healing” feature which automatically heals its plastic back from light scuffing. You can check out the demo of its Self-healing feature here and here.
