The Galaxy Gear will be compatible with more devices, according to Samsung.
Initially announced as a companion device for the Galaxy Note 3 and Note 10.1 (2014 Edition, the Galaxy Gear will soon be compatible with the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S III, and Galaxy Note II via the soon to be released Android 4.3 update which Samsung is releasing in phases.
Also added to the Galaxy Gear compatibility list is the Galaxy S4 mini, S4 Active, Mega 5.8, Mega 6.3, and S4 zoom. These devices will be getting a separate software update released in phases starting from the end of October to allow them to work with the Galaxy Gear.
While its good that Samsung is enabling its older devices to work with the Galaxy Gear, the features and functions will vary depending on what device you’re using it with, so keep that in mind.
