Sony Malaysia has revealed the recommended retail prices for its SmartWatch 2 and the SBH52 Bluetooth Headset. Listed on the Sony Malaysia website, the silicone strap (which is interchangeable) SmartWatch 2 sells for RM780 while the more premium metal strap version is priced at RM850, the SBH52 Bluetooth headset is priced at RM480. The accessories are available right now from the online Sony Store.
With a 1.6-inch Transflective display and an IP57 ingress protection rating, the SmartWatch 2 is an improvement of Sony’s previous smartwatches bringing a host of new features like easy one-touch NFC pairing for compatible devices, remote shutter activation which allows you to operate the camera on your smartphone remotely. You can also get email, text and Twitter alerts delivered to the smartwatch. However with just 220×176 pixels text and icons are going to appear pixelate but at least unlike Samsung’s Galaxy Gear, you won’t have to worry about device compatibility with the SmartWatch 2 as it works with almost all Android devices running 4.0 and above.
The SBH52 is a Bluetooth headset with a twist. In addition to being able to plug in any standard set of headphones the device can be used like a mini handset as well. The headset is immensely useful and easy to setup thanks to one-touch NFC pairing and with a built-in OLED display, you can screen calls without the need to take your phone out of your bag, purse or pocket. We like the SBH52, it has a nice understated design and if anyone knows how to make Bluetooth headsets it’s definitely Sony.
