Purported Sony Xperia Z1 f spotted as a mini Xperia Z1

The Sony Xperia Z1 is currently Sony’s flagship smart phone with top notch hardware that’s mated with a 20.7MP 1/2.3″ camera. If the 5 incher is too big, now a mini version has surfaced which is rumoured as the Xperia Z1 f. In terms of design, it looks rather identical and packs the same 20.7MP shooter, 2.2GHz quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM as its bigger sibling.

Being the “mini” version, it comes with a smaller 4.3″ screen that does 1280×720 pixels resolution and a smaller 2,300mAh battery. In terms of dimensions, it is slightly thicker at 9.4mm compared to the Z1’s 8.5mm. Just like the new Xperia devices, it also comes with IP58 rated water & dust resistance capabilities.

Currently it is just a rumour and there’s a possibility that the so called leaked document is a fake. However we won’t be surprised if this is real as Sony does make similar designed phones in smaller packages like its Xperia S, Xperia P and Xperia U in its 2012 NXT series.

The 5″ Sony Xperia Z1 is priced at RM2,399 for its 16GB 4G LTE version which makes it similar priced as the Galaxy Note 3 with 32GB and 4G LTE support. If the mini version is real, this would be a compelling competitor against the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom that’s priced at RM1,699.

You can check out the alleged Xperia Z1 f full spec sheet after the break.
