ASUS PadFone Infinity Goes on Sale in Malaysia from Today

Update: The PadFone Infinity that’s on sale in Malaysia caries the A80 model number. This runs the mid-range Snapdragon 600 processor. The newer A86 PadFone Infinity runs the Snapdragon 800 is not available in Malaysia. At the moment, ASUS has no plans to bring the A86 model here.

The top-of-the-line PadFone Infinity is now available in Malaysia with a retail price of RM2,699 for the 32GB version together with the tablet docking station.

The PadFone Infinity is a hybrid device of sorts. It consist of two components: one is the LTE smartphone which houses a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, a full-HD 1080p 5-inch Super IPS+, 2GB of RAM, a 13MP f2/0 rear camera and a 2,400mAh battery pack. The other is the tablet docking station that has a 10-inch 1920×1200 touchscreen along with a 5,000mAh battery.

The smartphone docks into the tablet station allowing you to use the device as a tablet when you want to. The advantage of this is that your data and other essential stays intact whether you’re in tablet or smartphone mode. It’s a novel idea and one that has many potential.
