Nokia Lumia 1020 launched in Malaysia at RM2,499 with Free Camera Grip worth RM299

The Nokia Lumia 1020 with its epic 41MP 1/1.5″ Sensor is finally launched in Malaysia. Priced at RM2,499, the photography centric Windows Phone seems expensive but Nokia is throwing an additional free camera grip worth RM299 which is pictured above.

To recap, the Lumia 1020 is considered one of Nokia’s high spec device which is rather similar to the Lumia 925. Both comes with a 4.5″ AMOLED display that pushes 1280×768 pixels resolution, dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and a 2,000mAh battery. The Lumia 1020 sets itself apart with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of-board storage which is double of its Lumia 925 sibling. Despite its thicker dimensions, the Lumia 1020 is 12 grams lighter than the Sony Xperia Z1. You can compare the specs of the Lumia 1020 with the current range of smart phones here.

Being a photography marvel, the Lumia 1020 camera comes with optical image stabiliser, xenon flash and 6 element Carl Zeiss lens. Effectively, it is capable to shoot 34MP in 16:9 aspect ratio or 38MP in 4:3. While it lacks an optical zoom like the Galaxy S4 Zoom, the Lumia 1020 boasts loss-less zoom by means of resampling. In case you’re wondering, the bundled camera grip is not your ordinary phone accessory. Not only it offers form factor like a typical point of shoot camera, it also doubles up as a battery pack with a capacity of 1,020mAh. That’s 50% extra juice to compliment the standard 2,000mAh battery in the smart phone. At the bottom of the grip, there’s also a mounting point for you to mount the Lumia 1020 on a tripod.
