HTC Butterfly S available in Malaysia mid-August at RM2,399

UPDATE: HTC Butterfly S available now as announced by HTC Malaysia on FB.

The rather high-end HTC Butterfly S is coming to Malaysia. It carries the retail price tag of RM2,399 and comes with a choice of 3 colours – Fervour Red, Glamour White & Metallic Grey. Priced RM100 more than its aluminium clad flagship HTC One, the Butterfly S packs quite a punch with a larger 5.0″ Full HD display, faster 1.9GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm 600 processor and a larger 3,200mAh battery.

Although it looks similar to its original HTC Butterfly, the new model comes with HTC’s signature dual front facing Boom stereo speakers and over at the back comes with a Ultrapixel camera which promises superior low light photography with an effective 4MP resolution. In terms of storage, the on-board capacity is 16GB, which is half of what the HTC One at RM2,299 offers. However it is good to know that the Butterfly S allows expansion of storage with microSD.

Connectivity wise, it supports the usual WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth and not forgetting NFC, which is lacking from the original Butterfly. Another plus point is that the unit which we are getting also comes with 4G LTE support for 1800MHz/2600MHz frequency. So if you’re looking for something more bigger and packs more punch than the normal HTC One, this is the phone for you. The only downside on the Butterfly S is its glossy plastic back which isn’t as upmarket as the aluminium feel of the One. If you’re looking to get one, the Butterfly S will be available at all HTC retail outlets in mid-August.

Don’t forget to check out our hands-on impression of the HTC Butterfly S over here. More official pics of the Butterfly S after the break.
