6.1″ Huawei Ascend Mate gets priced at RM1,599

For those want bigger smart phone screens but yet not too huge for your pockets, you might want to check out the 6.1″ Huawei Ascend Mate which is now available in Malaysia. Priced at RM1,599, it comes with a 6.1″ IPS+ 720p HD display that pushes 1280×720 pixels resolution.

Under the hood, it runs on Huawei’s very own K3V2 1.5GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM. In the camera department, it comes with a 8MP shooter and a front facing 1MP camera for video calls. The biggest highlight would be its battery that’s rated at 4,050mAh capacity. That’s 950mAh more than the Galaxy Note II which comes with 3,100mAh capacity. In our short hands-on at MWC 2013, the Huawei Ascend Mate feels rather solid and comes with nice UI touches to make single handed operations more usable.

When it was announced early this year, the Huawei Ascend Mate boasts the largest smart phone screen but it is now overshadowed by the Samsung Galaxy Mega that comes with a 6.3″ display.

Head after the break for our hands-on video from MWC 2013.
