HTC One Google Edition and large screen model rumoured in the works

Just like the Samsung Galaxy S4 with its Google Edition, HTC is now purported to be working on a HTC One running on a plain vanilla Android OS. This would be a stock Android HTC One without the customised HTC Sense which also means quicker future Android updates. The announcement is yet to be made official yet but there’s strong indication by those close to the source. No word on the actual model options but it could be coming in 16GB capacity size, which is currently sold in Taiwan.

It was also recently claimed that more than 5 million HTC One have been sold so far. This is quite an impressive feat considering initial supply issues and being overshadowed in terms marketing budget by its Korean rivals.

Now word has it that HTC is working on a larger HTC One variant between 5-6 inches to offer more choice for consumers. HTC has been rather conservative with display sizes and their 5″ HTC Butterfly is their largest offering so far. At the moment we are quite happy with the HTC One’s 4.7″ dimensions which is decent for single handed use. If they plan to go bigger, hopefully it comes with a higher capacity battery to go against the likes of the Galaxy Note II.
