Sony Xperia Z & ZL available next week, Xperia Tablet Z coming to Malaysia in Q2

The Sony Xperia Z and ZL is officially launched in Malaysia with the price of RM2,199 and RM1,899 respectively. Both will go on sale next Friday on the 15th of March 2013. For the Xperia Tablet Z, Sony has announced that it will be coming in Q2 which is within the next couple of months but so far there’s no price indication at the moment.

To recap on the specs, both the Xperia Z and ZL comes with a Full HD 5.0″ display, powered with a Quad-Core 1.5GHz processor with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and a 13MP camera. What sets the 2 apart is the Xperia Z has a slimmer 7.9mm profile with water and dust resistance capabilities which is noticable side by side. Meanwhile, the bulkier Xperia ZL comes with shorter and narrower dimensions. In addition, the Xperia ZL comes with a dedicated camera button which is missing on the Xperia Z.

The Xperia Tablet Z is currently the thinnest 10.1″ tablet that is only 6.9mm thin (thinner than the Xperia Z) and weighs just 495 grams. In terms of specs, it is also similiar with a quad-core 1.5GHz processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of storage. The Xperia Tablet Z too is a water and dust resistant device with IP55/57 rating. Do check out our hands-on post of the Xperia Tablet Z at MWC 2013.

Being a water resistant device, both the Xperia Z and Xperia Tablet Z opens up new possibilities with it being able to shoot photos and videos in wet scenarios. If you haven’t seen it yet, check out our earlier post of the Xperia Z that functions as a underwater camera. We have also tested the Xperia Z in both wet/submerged conditions as well.

Check out our hands-on video of the Xperia Z after the break, plus a couple of shots of the Xperia ZL and Xperia Tablet Z.
