We are covering the Mobile World Congress 2013 and managed to get our hands on the recently announced Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0. This sits between the Galaxy Note II and the Galaxy Note 10.1 which comes with a dedicated S-Pen.

Compared to its former premium phone-tablet, the Galaxy Tab 7.7, the Note 8.0 is slightly thicker, heavier and has a lower battery capacity at 7.95mm, 338grams and 4,600mAh respectively. Design wise, it carries the similar look and feel as the current crop of Samsung devices such as the Galaxy Note II and the Galaxy S III. There’s also an InfraRed port which can be used as a consumer grade remote control.

Being a phone-tablet device, you can make calls on this 8 incher as it comes with an earpiece receiver at the top, although we find it silly to have a such a big device next to your face.

Head after the break for the hands-on video and we’ve included some sample shots from the 5MP shooter as well.
