The recently announced 4th generation iPad with Retina Display in 128GB capacity is now available in Malaysia through the online Apple Store.
In terms of pricing, the 128GB WiFi only version is going at RM2,399 while the WiFi + Cellular version with micro-SIM slot is priced at RM2,799. Pricing for other models remain unchanged with the entry level 16GB WiFi priced at RM1,499 while the WiFi + Cellular version at RM1,899. Admittedly, this isn’t a model for everyone as the pricing is rather close to a full fledged notebook. However going by cost per GB, the 128GB WiFi gives about RM18.72/GB as compared to the 16GB WiFi that costs an average of RM93.68/GB. If storage on a tablet is crucial, then the 128GB might be something worth considering especially when there’s no expandable storage.
According to the online Apple Store, both models start shipping in 1-3 business days which means you probably get it after the upcoming Chinese New Year holidays. For more information or to place your order, head over to the Apple Store Malaysia iPad page.
