The Next Samsung Galaxy Flagship Phone Could Feature Unbreakable Display

Quoting top analysts, Reuters say that the successor of the Galaxy S III may feature a breakthrough innovation that will make broken smartphone displays a thing of the past.

An unbreakable display could be a killer feature for the new Galaxy phone and give Samsung a commanding lead over fierce rivals Apple in the global smartphone market that is estimated to be worth US$200 billion.

Codenamed “Project J” after Samsung’s mobile division chief JK Shin the next Galaxy flagship phone is expected to be released as early as April next year.

Rumours indicate that the Galaxy S IV is expected to feature a bigger display with an even higher resolution than the current model as well as an uprated quad-core processor and a 13MP camera. The display is said to have a PPI count of over 440 pixels, a huge leap from the 306 PPI on the Galaxy S III screen and the iPhone 5’s 326 PPI display.

If anyone could make an unbreakable display for mobile devices it would be Samsung with its vast experience in OLED technology. OLED technology makes unbreakable displays possible because OLED panels can replace glass substrate with plastic material making a screen more durable and virtually unbreakable. The same analysts also say that flexible as well as unbreakable displays could come to mobile sometime next year.
