It is no secret that Sony is currently working on its next big flagship device which purportedly comes with a 5″ Full HD display coupled with quad-core processor. We’ve earlier seen leaked photos of the Yuga device that comes in a thin unibody form. Now more details of the flagship model has come to light.
Like most Sony models, there will be 2 variants. First up is the C650X Odin for the global market and it comes with IR Blaster that lets you control your audio/video appliances. Next is the C660X Yuga for the Asian market which comes with water resistant capabilities which could be a Japan specific model.
In terms of dimensions, the Yuga is taller but yet thinner than its Odin brother. With a 5″ Full HD display, both devices are supposedly having a smaller footprint than the competition. Below are the dimensions with comparison with other large screen models:
Sony C650X Odin – 131.6mm x 69.7mm x 9.8mm – 147g
Sony C660X Yuga – 138.6mm x 71.0mm x 8.1mm – 140g
HTC Droid DNA – 141.0mm x 70.5mm x 9.7mm – 138g
HTC One X+ – 134.4mm x 69.9mm x 8.9mm – 135g
Samsung Galaxy S III – 136.6mm x 70.6mm x 8.6mm – 133g
If the dimensions are true, the upcoming Sony model is one of the most compact 5″ smart phone which is comparable even with its smaller screen 4.7″-4.8″ rivals. The width is rather similar but it still manages to get a rather short height of 131.6mm on the Odin model. In terms of weight, it tips the scale upwards and we hope that’s because of a high capacity battery inside.
It is still too early to tell if this is the real deal and obviously size is just one part of the story. Hopefully Sony will have more surprises up their sleeves when it is revealed.
