Apple introduces Lightning to micro USB adapter

If you own multiple platform devices, carrying cables can be a chore as there are different standards for different devices. Apple has recently switched from its standard 30-pin to a more compact lightning connector, while the rest such as BlackBerry, Android and Windows Phone are mostly using the standard micro-USB cable.

For those who are planning to get the latest generation iPhone 5, iPod Touch, 4th gen iPad and iPad mini, Apple has now introduced a lightning to micro-USB adapter which lets you charge on existing micro USB cables. Those who are obsessed with traveling as light as possible might find the adapter appealing as there would just need to carry 1 cable. In terms of price, the adapter cost RM69 which can be ordered from Apple Store online here.

However if you find the adapter as something you’ll lose easily, you can get the proper lightning USB cable at the same RM69 price as well. The micro USB adapter is a cheaper buy than the RM109 Lightning to 30-pin connector.
