Could This Be a Nexus Phone From Sony or Is It Just an Elaborate Hoax?

These pictures uncovered in one of the many weird and wonderful galleries of Picasa reveal what is apparently another Google Nexus device, this time coming from Sony.

Other than the pictures, nothing else has been revealed about the Sony Nexus phone. There have been rumours in the past of Sony making the next Nexus but those rumours have not carried much weight and we can’t understand why Google would want to have more than one Nexus phone in the market at the same time.

There are plenty of phones in the market running Android right now and the Nexus line has been successful in differentiating itself from the pack. Having multiple Nexus phones in the market simultaneously will just defeat that purpose and confuse consumers. Nexus phones are what we’d call halo devices. Nexus phones are developed to deliver the purest form of the Android experience and having two of them in the market will negate that.

So we’re pegging this as fake until more concrete information surfaces.
