Sony Xperia SL quietly revealed online

UPDATE: Sony Xperia SL will be coming to Malaysia. However there’s no mention of local availability date and pricing at this moment.

The Sony Xperia SL which is a bumped up version of the Xperia S has been officially revealed on Sony’s own website without much fanfare. It was earlier expected to be launched at IFA 2012 together with other new Sony models such as Sony Xperia T and Xperia TX.

Just as the earlier rumour suggests, it features a familiar dual-core Qualcomm MSM8260 processor which is now bumped up from 1.5GHz to 1.7GHz. The Xperia SL now comes in 4 colours to choose from – Black, White, Silver and Pink. In terms of design, it looks rather identical but there’s one small difference at the bottom where the side lines slope towards the end.

The rest of the hardware and features remained unchanged with 1GB of RAM, 16GB of on board storage, 12.1MP camera and a high density 4.3″ display that does 1280×720. Weight and thickness is the same as the Xperia S at 10.6mm thick and 144grams. The full details can be viewed on Sony’s product page.

Head after the break for more product shots.
