Nokia has recently introduced a trio of entry level devices that aim to bring touch screen phones to the masses. The new models – Asha 305, Asha 306 & Asha 311 features a 3.0″ touchscreen display with lightweight body under 100g.
The top of the line model, the Asha 311 features a capacitive and scratch-resistant touch screen display, 1GHz processor, 3.2MP Camera, EDGE/3G HSPA/WiFi Support and 256MB of on board storage that’s expandable via microSD. It comes with a variety of colours – Dark Grey, Rose Red, Blue, Brown & Sand White.
Next is the Asha 305 & Asha 306 which is rather similar. Both comes with a 3.0″ resistive touch screen display, 2MP camera, GPRS/EDGE connectivity and 64MB of on board storage that’s also expandable with microSD. Colour options available include Silver White, Red, Mid Blue & Dark Grey. What sets both of them apart is that the Asha 305 comes with easy swap dual-sim feature which lets you switch between telco SIMs seamlessly. The Asha 306 in addition also comes with WLAN support for faster access where internet is available.
All 3 comes with a Nokia BL-4U 1,100mAh battery. In terms of software bundling, Nokia is also including 40 EA Games for Free which include titles Tetris, Bejeweled, Need for Speed The Run & FIFA 2012. Since the intended users are cost conscious, Nokia has included Nokia Browser 2.0 which helps to reduce internet browsing cost with data compression up to 90%. This is somewhat similar to Opera Mini’s mobile browser.
In terms of pricing, the Asha 305 & 306 is priced under USD$100, while the higher end Asha 311 is priced at US$120.
