The Samsung Galaxy S III runs on its very own Exynos 4 Quad that’s clocked at 1.4GHz. Its biggest rival is none other than Nvidia’s Tegra 3 with its 4-Plus-1 1.5GHz quad core processor that’s running on the HTC One X.
The folks at GSMArena has managed to get some performance figures on the new Galaxy S III and the results are pretty impressive. On Quadrant test, the S III scores 5642 points, blasting the HTC One S/X by almost 600-800 points margin. In the javascript based Sun-Spider, the S III again excels by almost 15% margin against the rest. Last but not least, it also score almost 50% more than the competition in BrowserMark test. You can check out the full benchmark comparison here.
With such figures, the Galaxy S III seems to be unstoppable but there’s a surprise from a unexpected device, the Meizu MX quad-core which runs on the same Exynos 4 Quad processor. On AnTuTu benchmark as seen above, the MX quad-core manages to outdo the Galaxy S III by a small margin with better gains in the CPU and RAM department. Some are saying the higher results was due to the Meizu’s processor clocked at a higher 1.5GHz which is more than the S III’s 1.4GHz. At a lower clock speed, the S III would likely to have to a longer battery life.
