HTC has set out to create a device that has the best camera in the market and this is based on consumer researched that the camera is the number 1 factor in smart phone purchase decision. For the HTC One series which consists of HTC One X, One S and One V, they have pursued to make photography on smart phones better with several notable specs and features.

The HTC One series is their fastest camera yet with its claimed speed of 0.7 seconds from activation to first shot. We will try to find out if this claim is valid in our hands on later.

Apart of having fast shutter speed, the HTC One series is capable of shooting burst photos up to 4 FPS on the HTC One X & One S. That’s 4 photos within a second up to a maximum of 99 shots. For the HTC One V, it shoots at 2 FPS but also up to a maximum of 99 shots.

With its f/2.0 camera aperture, the HTC One series is claimed to be 44% brighter than the iPhone 4S.

Not only it shoots HD videos in 1080p, the HTC One series allow lets you take still shots while doing a video recording. This comes in very handy especially when you’re wondering whether to take a shot or a video during those special moments. Even if you take a normal HD video recording, the HTC One series lets you save individual frames from your video as a still shot.

For Audio, the HTC One series comes with Beats Audio integration. On previous HTC, it is limited to its own apps but on the One series, Beats Audio is extended to all apps including YouTube and even 3rd party media players.

Moving onto accessories, HTC lets you share content while at home or on the go. For home users, they have the Media Link HD which essentially is a wireless adapter that is hooked up to your HDTV via HDMI. It lets you stream HD content at 720p to the big screen and it is powered by USB. Although Media Link is similar to DLNA and AirPlay, the device’s portability and super easy set up makes this a compelling accessory for HTC One owners because you can stream to virtually any LCD TV that has HDMI. At the moment Media Link is only supported on HTC One X and One S.

During the media preview, they have also demonstrated 2 modes. You can mirror exactly what is shown on your phone or you can let it stream video content to the big screen while you’re doing something else on your phone.

For in-car, they have an accessory which lets you stream audio into your car audio system. In addition they have introduced a new car mode which makes it more intuitive to use while driving. It features large buttons and if you hit the home button, it returns to the car mode home screen instead of the standard home.
