HTC Sensation XE Gets Ice Cream Sandwich. Europe First, Asia Hopefully Soon

HTC has started rolling out Google’s Ice Cream Sandwich goodness for the Sensation XE. The update includes a refreshed version of HTC’s Sense UI skin (version 3.6) as well.

At the moment, users in only a number of European countries have confirmed that HTC has indeed started sending out the Android 4.0 update being seeded to Sensation XE units. HTC Sensation XE users in other parts of the world should expect the update to be available within a couple of weeks, maybe earlier. Just keep on spamming that “Software Updates” button under the “Settings” menu to see if the update is available here.

If you do get a notification to update your Sensation XE to Android 4.0, do let us know so we can update this post with the latest info. Keep in mind that the update is nearly 300MB big, so WiFi connectivity is always a good idea.

For the more daring ones, you can grab the source file from XDA here and flash your Sensation XE yourself. As always approach with caution, if you don’t know what you’re doing, don’t do anything.
