RIM has established a local entity in Malaysia to further develop its business and drive the growth of the BlackBerry platform in the country. One of the key functions of RIM Malaysia Sdn Bhd will be providing sales and marketing support to carrier and distributor partners throughout Malaysia. The local RIM team will be led by Country Director for Malaysia and Brunei, Annamalai Muthu.

Establishing a local entity is a milestone for us and it is our way of showcasing the long-term commitment and investment we have lined up for Malaysia. We are excited of growing our team locally, whilst having the brand grow exponentially here in Malaysia. It is our aim to continue increasing accessibility for the BlackBerry brand across Malaysia.

Annamalai Muthu said in a statement.
