Spare One phone that’s on emergency standby for 15 years

Being left with a dead phone during emergency and critical moments can be disastrous. What if your life is dependent with just one call? That’s where Energizer, Xpal & Powerskin come in with their “Spare One” phone.

Spare One is a basic no frills phone which is powered by a single ultimate lithium AA battery. If kept unused, the battery is able to retain its battery life up to 15 years. So in event of an emergency, all you need to do is pop-in a SIM card, insert the AA battery and you are good to go. What’s more amazing is that the single AA battery boasts 10 hours of talk time. Since it’s designed for emergencies, don’t expect fancy LCD screens or WAP browsers.

The Spare One will debut at CES and shall be priced at an affordable US$49.99. We can already see the potential of having this in every car, first aid and survival kits. Just like flash lights, a phone is definitely a must for any kind of emergency. Speaking of which, it does come with an integrated LED flash light.

For more information, visit their Spare One’s official website.

Head after the break for more of its features.
