Vlingo now free for BlackBerry Users

After the big disruption to BlackBerry users worldwide, RIM has offered a couple of free apps as form of compensation. One of them is Vlingo, a voice assistant app which is now available for free download. The app is originally priced at $19.99 so this giveaway rather huge in value.

This probably is the closest thing to Siri and definitely smarter than Iris. With Vlingo, you can send text, open apps and even search for maps and perform status updates. We’ve tried it on an Android and iPhone which works pretty well even with our “local” English.

To download, head over to App World.
