Apple in a statement to AllThingsD said that “a small number of customers have reported lower than expected battery life on iOS 5 devices”. Apple says the it has “found a few bugs that are affecting battery life” and will be releasing an update to fix the problem in a “few weeks”.
Apple didn’t say when exactly the bug-fix update will be released.
At the same time Apple has released iOS 5.0.1 for developers which contains the following improvements and bug fixes including:
Multitasking Gestures for the original iPad means good news for the first-gen iPad owners who were disappointed that their device didn’t support the feature. Also the security improvements means that the iPad 2 should no longer be vulnerable to exploits using the Smart Cover.
