A few days ago, news about LG Optimus 2X not getting the latest Android version were spreading like wildfire, causing disappointment to users worldwide. It all started with a Facebook response from a LG page in India.
Today LG Mobile has officially refute such claims and clarified that they are in the process of planning for a Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Optimus 2X and other higher-end LG smart phones. Details of such update will be announced once the OS is publicly released by Google.
Just recently, LG has started rolling out Android 2.3 Gingerbread upgrade for its LG Optimus 2X, Black and 3D models. Finally LG is showing some vital signs in terms of software update. Realistically we won’t be expecting Ice Cream Sandwich to be rolled out anytime soon based on the their time taken to roll out Android 2.3. However, it is good to know that they still have the intention to upgrade its existing models to the latest. Hopefully they would release it before the next Android OS version is out.
