We’ve just gotten this bit of very interesting information from a reliable source. It seems that Celcom will the be the first to offer the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Malaysia.
Our source is not telling us when this will happen and there’s no indication of pricing either, but we’re convinced that the tablet will hit local stores before this month draws to a close.
Last week, Indonesia became the first country in Asia to launch the Galaxy Tab 10.1. In Indonesia, the device retails for about RM2,110 without contract. Local pricing for the device will be “competitive” with the the current crop tablets available in Malaysia.
At the Indonesia launch, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 sold out in seven hours and it was reported that 4,000 people stood in line to purchase one.
When the Galaxy S II was launched here, there was great interest for the device as well. We noted that it was one of the most popular non-Apple smartphone in the market. On the same note, by our account, the Galaxy Tab 7 is still one of the most popular Android tablets in the market today and it looks like Samsung will have another winner in their stables with the Tab 10.1.
