ASUS Eee Pad Transformer pricing revealed

While we are about 6 days away from the launch of the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer, many are asking how much will it be? The affordable Acer Iconia Tab A500 is priced at RM1599 while the Motorola Xoom is priced at RM2099.

Someone discovered from the ASUS Facebook contest T&C that the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer with the keyboard dock is priced at RM1799. Next to the price, it is written Approximate retail value (“ARV”) which we believe is the likely pricing at launch.

The model that is being offered as the price for the contest seems to be the 16GB version which is half of the on-board storage of the Acer Iconia and Motorola Xoom. We’re now wondering if ASUS will offer a 32GB version of the Transformer as well. If they do, we won’t expect it to cost much more than RM2000. Most likely it should retail for slightly below RM2000.

Despite the smaller storage size, the Eee Pad looks very tempting because of its very attractive price. On top of the 10-inch Honeycomb tablet, a full physical keyboard dock can all be had under RM2000. That is great value for money.

One of us is tempted to sell off our iPad 2 for this. What do you think?
