Motorola teases tablet device in video

Android’s founder Andy Rubin gave a glimpse of a Motorola tablet device running Honeycomb (Android 3.0 or is it 2.4 now?) at the D:Dive Into Mobile event earlier this month and rumours staring flying that Motorola will be joining in the tablet race in 2011, well with this video it’s pretty safe to say that the rumours have some substance in them.

Ahead of the Consumer Electronic Show happening January 2011, Motorola has released a teaser video to clue viewers in on what to expect and it looks like the US company is looking to make some serious impact calling the iPad a “giant iPhone” and that the Android OS that’s running the Samsung Galaxy Tab is “for a phone“.

Towards the end, the video clues us in on what OS the Motorola tablet will be running and it looks like Honeycomb.

No other details was revealed in the video but sources are saying that the Motorola tablet could very well have the following specs but of course all this is not confirmed. All we are sure off is that a Motorola tablet is coming and it is coming very soon.

  • 7-inch and 10-inch versions
  • 32GB storage
  • NVIDIA Tegra 2 T20 dual-core processor
  • Gyroscope
  • 1280×800 resolution
  • 5MP camera on the back, 2MP on the front.
  • microSD
  • HDMI out
  • Versions for UMTS, CDMA and LTE (all bases covered!)

So the stage is set for 2011 to be the year of the table with the upcoming iPad 2 getting ready to compete with the like of RIM’s PlayBook, a revised Samsung Galaxy Tab and this newcomer from Motorola. We can’t wait for the year to end!

Head on to after the jump for the Motorola tablet teaser video — “Tablet Evolution
