While the Nexus S is getting the spotlight, LG has stepped up the game by launching its dual-core smart phone the LG Optimus 2X before the year is out. Previously known by its LG Star codename, the Optimus 2X is currently the first and fastest dual-core smart phone with its Nvidia Tegra 2 1GHz processor.
The rest of the specs are pretty much known from its previous appearance with 4″ WVGA screen, 8GB internal storage on board, 1500mAh battery and support full playback and video recording up to 1080p. It also comes with 8MP camera at the back and a front facing 1.3MP camera in front. To output its 1080p content, the Optimus 2X has a dedicated HDMI port as well.
Although it is launched, it will only be available in Korea next month followed by Europe and Asia. It will be introduced with Android 2.2 Froyo first while Android 2.3 Gingerbread update to be rolled out later. Hopefully LG Malaysia will bring this in early next year too. Just recently, they have just released the popular LG Optimus One in Malaysia with Celcom offering bundling options.
