Nokia launches entry level C2-01 and Nokia X2-01

Nokia has announced today 2 new entry level devices, the C2-01 and the X2-01 which aims to offer as much functionality at the lowest price possible for people with different needs. The C2-01 is a candy bar device while the X2-01 is a device with a full QWERTY keyboard.

The C2-01 which runs on the S40 OS is said to be Nokia’s most inexpensive 3G phone. Despite the “cheap” title, it offers basic features you would normally expect like a 3.2MP Camera, Bluetooth, FM Radio and a 2″ QVGA screen. It is priced at €70 which is about RM300 in our local currency.

The X2-01 is a social media oriented device which is priced much lower than the Nokia C3. It also has a 2.4″ QVGA screen with S40 OS. Since it has a lower price point, the X2-01 has a much lower 0.3MP VGA camera and it doesn’t have WiFi. Just like the C3, it only runs on EDGE. The X2-01 is listed as €80 (Approx. RM340), which probably is the cheapest device right now with a full QWERTY keyboard.
